We aim to make Giro usable with a keyboard, screen reader, mobile device and enlarged text, working towards WCAG 2.2 AA. This is a working target, not a claim of full conformance.

Using the site

Use the Skip to content link to pass navigation. Menus, gallery controls and cookie settings work with a keyboard. Browser reduced-motion settings skip the intro and reduce animation. Use Skip intro to stop the opening film. The optional media preferences are not needed to control playback.

Known limitations

Archive photographs need contributor review for descriptive alternatives. Any film containing substantive speech or information needs a checked caption/transcript; we have not invented subtitles. Third-party video sites and map tiles have their own accessibility limitations. Some text overlays on photos and custom colour combinations require manual review.
